Have you ever felt you needed to go into "full-time" ministry in order to do God's work? Well, some are called to do that and some are not. However, no matter where your are, God can use you anywhere!
Full-Time Ministry
When I
(Sal) came to a personal relationship with Jesus my first year in college, I wanted to go into "full-time" ministry when I was finishing college. However, I didn't have the funds to attend another 4 years to a Christian college. I had to work to pay my bills in the mean time I was living in Morris, which I worked at a group home. It wouldn't be awhile when I began to realize that God called me into "full-time" ministry working here. Today is January 6th of 2004, and now I'm fully understanding this! In fact, we are all called to "full-time" ministry through our words and actions everyday-no matter where you are-"marketplace" (home, school, work, community, etc...).
Personal Business Experience
When I was little, I can remember my first "money-making" business (see ECONOMIC) adventure. My neighborhood friends and I decided to go door-to-door and sell colored rocks. We sold them for a penny, which was a lot when I was little! I remember one sale, I was so happy that I sold a rock that I took the penny of the person's hands and walked home. Then that individual came knocking at my door and told me that I forgot to give her the rock!
Back in secondary school, I was introduced to a business economic life-skill program called Junior Achievement Program. The trainer had our class get an assembly format position and we made special pencils. He/She was trying to teach us what it takes to get a business going and the "man labor" to get it functional.
I used to try to do everything to make "quick money" early in college when I was introduced to all these "pyramid scheme level" companies:
Kirby Vacuums, summer of 96'-sold one!
*One of the salespersons here was involved in Equinox, which he sold me to their concept and I gave it all at Equinox until I became unsuccessful! Equinox International 96'-98'
-Equinox Products, have some left?
-Settlement, by FTC Prime America, I failed the insurance test to get even started as a salesperson! Quickstar my sister and housemate introduced me to this
Looking for a new opporunity to make extra money?...(click here)
Every sale I make from each product, 10% goes torwards one of the following good causes of your choice. My hope is to increase my customers awareness of the need and support (financial and prayer) that Ive personally helped with in the past, current, and continue to do so in the future. Click the link below for further details of this awareness sales program:
Negative Side:
*judge yourself, but you can't totally rely on the badnews you hear all the time! There is always complaints and negativity about everything out there.
Unfortunately, business sales was not "my cup of tea". However, I'm currently (Sunday, March 14th of 2004) pursuing an opportunity in making websites (portfolio).

WorldServe Ministries serves the suffering and persecuted Church around the world. WorldServe encourages, supports, equips and strengthens our suffering brothers and sisters in order to continue the advancement of the Gospel and the expansion of church planting movements around the world. " Christian business leaders reach out on college campus Posted: 27 August, 2010 "USA (MNN) ― In a faltering economy, business students want to have knowledge and understanding of basic economic and business principles. However, they also want real life experience. They also want to hear from people who have been successful at it. WorldServe Ministries understands that desire and has started a program specifically for international business students studying in the United States.
WorldServe's Tom Henry says their Entrepreneurial Leadership Forum is a great way for students to learn and hear the Gospel.
Georgia Tech will have its first forum the first week in October. Henry says business leaders from Atlanta will share "how their faith in God has helped them care for their employees more effectively, be a better steward of resources, [and] be better leaders. And so what we want to do is teach these principles to seekers, but also to students who are typically hostile to Christianity."
Henry says WorldServe is partnering with Campus Crusade for Christ, International Students, and others to help facilitate this. He says through relationship building, he expects many to come to Christ.
Campus ministries are already effect in reaching them, says Henry, especially Chinese students. "There are over 100,000 graduate students from China. Ten percent of the folks from China become Christians. But when they get back, they have a great difficulty getting connected to a community of faith, and as a result, many fall away."
WorldServe is using their connections in China to help these new Christians. They do so "by directly connecting them life-on-life with a body that will encourage, nurture, support, and continue the discipleship process that God started here."
Not only is it an outreach for WorldServe, but it's also an outreach for Chinese believers. "But now, the Christians in China who are professors are starting to target campuses, places [in which] we have a presence and a ministry, so that we can be involved in the discipleship and the evangelization of their students."
Henry says this type of ministry can be started all over the world. "We would love to start setting up city centers all over. We need people who can organize events and introduce us to campus ministry leaders."
This ministry is forcing the church to think of missions as both local and international, say Henry.
Funding is needed for this new facet of ministry for WorldServe. "We're obviously ramping up and hiring staff people as well as connectors over in China."
Pray that WorldServe would be effective not only in mentoring business students, but that they'd see more and more students come to Christ and become part of a fellowship of Christians in China.

Irvine California, from ripoffreport.com "I have received emails from Penbrook Productions before and decided to bite at the chance to work from home. The ad promised a 24/7 staff that would be available anytime for problems, Nope! The ad promised a list of names so that I could start processing refunds immediately, Noooooo! And the steps that are required to get started in this business are bogus. Anything that sounds too good to be true, is. I'm still attemping to ge my money back. Ryan Blair 2010 Interview Part 1
""'The disciples came to him and asked, 'Why do you speak to the people in parables?' 'This is why I speak to them in parables: Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.'" Matthew 13:10, 13 (NIV)
Jesus often taught His followers using stories called parables. Three of the best-loved parables—the Parable of the Talents, the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus, and the Parable of the Two Sons—are presented together to reinforce important principles. They teach us how to be good stewards of our time and of the things that we have been given. In a world of self-centeredness, these timeless truths help us to focus on our faith in God and on His power to help us live our lives in accordance with His teachings. "
"..The people of Clark aren't split, however, when it comes to financing the Clark Hometown Variety Store. They're rooting together for a business model that helped build the Green Bay Packers into a National Football League power as they attempt to make a go of a community-owned general store that opened in February.
In 1923, Green Bay townspeople paid $5 a share to be part-owners of the team. The franchise is still owned by the community, says Lee Remmel, 84, an ex-Green Bay Packers historian.
In similar fashion, more than 100 people in Clark have purchased $500 shares to finance the opening of the Clark Hometown Variety Store. The store will take the place of the Duckwall store, which was one of 20 underperforming stores parent company Duckwall-Alco Stores of Kansas closed in 2005.
"We had no place in town to buy a pair of shoelaces or buy socks or underwear or any of those things," says Greg Furness, a shareholder who runs the local funeral home. Residents, he says, had to make a 40-minute drive — sometimes in treacherous winter conditions — to Watertown every time they needed supplies.
Town residents coming together to open stores is "definitely a growing initiative," says Stacy Mitchell, a senior researcher at the Minneapolis-based Institute for Local Self-Reliance. "People feel a sense of ownership for the business, and that sense of ownership brings people into the store," she says...

Stephen Baldwin Shares the Gospel on The Apprentice
'Apprentice' TV Show Participant Troy McClain Learns his Business Skills from an Unusual Source
By Daniel J. Vance
Special to ASSIST News Service Sunday, February 1, 2009 " MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA (ANS) -- Perhaps you remember Troy McClain appearing on Donald Trump's highly rated "The Apprentice" television show in 2004.
Since then, besides starting numerous business ventures, McClain ultimately became a passionate worldwide advocate for people with disabilities, including being an official spokesperson for the week-long 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games that begin February 7 in Boise, Idaho. In addition, he's a real estate developer, sought-after speaker, and Participant Centered Results facilitator.
"I'm originally from Anchorage, Alaska," said 38-year-old McClain in a telephone interview from his Boise, Idaho, home.
"And when I was 14, my parents decided they would divorce. So my father took me hunting one last time before the split. From that hunting trip, I got pneumonia and was put in a Native-run hospital," McClain said.
While visiting him in the hospital, McClain's mother bonded with a 4-year-old Eskimo girl residing there as a ward of the state. DoraLynn Kignack had been institutionalized her entire life, was profoundly deaf, didn't know sign language, and had an intellectual disability. Unexpectedly, Troy's mother decided on-the-spot to adopt DoraLynn.
McClain resisted. He felt DoraLynn would negatively affect his popularity with school-age peers due to the social stigma of her having multiple disabilities and being Eskimo.
"Having my mom make her part of my life was a big change for me," he said. "I resisted DoraLynn at first. But it was (DoraLynn's) persistent love for me, without question, that eventually won me over."
Though DoraLynn had "zero communication skills" at first, McClain sensed something very special about his newly adopted sister. Eventually, they became best friends, and her influence has been a major factor in his becoming a successful real estate developer, speaker through The McClain Company, and a facilitator for Participant Centered Results, a business helping companies change employee thoughts and actions to improve relationships and results.
"This little girl was a warrior who taught us how to live," he said.
"Today, everybody wants to know where I learned my business principles. They think Trump, Bill Gates or Warren Buffett taught me. (McClain has met all three.) But I learned it from leaders like DoraLynn. I learned from her ability to listen. She is the most proficient person I've ever met in terms of nonverbal listening skills. For instance, she taught me how to read people in business settings in which they were telling me one thing verbally and their body language was saying something different."
McClain's life changed dramatically 24 years ago, when his recently divorced mother adopted DoraLynn, a 4-year-old deaf Eskimo girl with an intellectual disability.
"My mom and I had a big argument when we first got DoraLynn," said McClain in a telephone interview, who wasn't thrilled about the adoption then.
"The doctors described all her conditions, and kept describing her in language that was uninviting to someone wanting to adopt a child. They said DoraLynn was going to be a cost, would be time-consuming, and eventually, they described her as a liability."
His mother had been a truck driver and bar bouncer, and herself described as a liability at one time. "And her power of persuasion quickly turned these doctors' heads," he said.
"She said, 'Let me tell you what a liability is. It is someone who lies about their abilities. And you (the doctors) haven't even given her a chance to talk.'"
In time, DoraLynn and McClain became best friends. Eventually, she taught him the nonverbal listening skills he would use to build a multi-million dollar business. Through it, he has met business leaders Bill Gates, Donald Trump, and Warren Buffett.
McClain believes society should rethink the way it describes people with disabilities.
"Here you have a community of people that we are putting down by giving them labels such as handicapped, retarded, deaf and dumb," he said.
"We need to start using words that don't define or limit them. The more we believe people with disabilities are limited, the more we continue to miss out on what they have to offer."
As for the 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games: McClain said not many people realize Special Olympics has summer and winter world events every four years. (The Special Olympics are for people with intellectual disabilities.)
"In size, these games are second only to the (traditional) Olympics," he said.
"It is bigger than the Paralympics (for people with physical disabilities) and the X Games. Athletes from about 110 countries will participate and the Games will create an estimated $50 million cash infusion into Boise."

Testimonies
Jeremiah Lanpher's 12 noon prayer in N.Y.C. revival story from truthkeepers
"... This led me back to the business world and in hindsight, I see that it was the hand of God. I ultimately learned that I was never cut out out to be a pastor or in “vocational ministry”. I was designed to be in business. But, I could not help but think of myself as a “second-class” Christian who was not quite sold out to the purposes of God. I don’t know that anyone was saying this to me, but it was more implied by the culture.
For the next fourteen years, I would invest my life in business as a Christian seeking to reflect Christ in my world. I began an ad agency in 1984 and was able to serve many high profile clients like American Express, Steinway Pianos, Peachtree Software, and many national Christian organizations. Our work would receive many international marketing awards. I felt I was a good Christian business person who gave more than ten percent of my income to the church, shared my faith with others, and was considered a model Christian among my peers. But there was another side to me that was not totally evident to myself at the time. I struggled with my marriage relationship and discovered a real focus on building financial security. I had some underlying control issues that surfaced from time to time through anger. We had been in marriage counseling most of my married life....
The sons of Eliphaz the firstborn of Esau: Chiefs Teman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz (Genesis 36:15)...
I was shocked! I had just completed 300 pages of material on the relationship of Christians in the workplace to the life of Esau. My friend quickly concluded that God had called me to free Christian men and women from the "Esau life." And He had allowed me to receive a name that related to the person of Esau. It was the closest thing to a burning bush experience I'd ever had. Could the Lord be this personal with us? ...
Financial Break
In March of 2001 the Lord allowed me to sell one piece of property that did not get taken in the crisis. The property was sold commercially for six times what I paid for it and allowed us to wipe out all of our debts. We are totally debt free today in our personal lives and business life. We own our home and car without debt and we have paid all the past debts that were incurred in the crisis. We see that God has honored our obedience beyond what we deserve. Just as Joseph had 7 years of prosperity and 7 years of famine, God allowed us to walk through a period of seven years of adversity. It was during this season we learned our greatest spiritual lessons and our workplace ministry was birthed....
Intersection with Intercessors
During this journey, God began to connect me with prayer intercessors. I began to discover the importance of having men and women who have a greater level of commitment to prayer stand with me in my work life. After all, if we really believe God calls us to our work, why should we not have others support us in our God-given calling – even it is to make money for the Kingdom of God? Jan Christie was my first introduction to a prayer intercessor. She visited my office one day after reading my testimony in a newsletter from Larry Burkett’s ministry. She came to my office one day and prayed with one of my staff while I was out of town. During her prayer she began to describe three men in detail. Not realizing who she was praying for, my staff member revealed to Jan that she was describing the three men in the office in great detail. One of those was myself. I made an appointment with Jan the next week and she has become my key intercessor besides Angie. She has been with me since 1996.
Today, God is calling His people to pray and it is even penetrating those in the workplace.
...
*see GoodnewsEverybody.com: Prayer-needs, reports, requests, testimonies, etc.. "..God is calling each of us into a deeper, more intimate relationship with Himself. He is calling us to deeper levels of prayer. He is desiring to reveal His love and power in our daily experience, not just on Sunday. He wants to give those of us in the marketplace a strategy for success that is different from the world’s standard. It is a higher standard.
Let us walk together in discovering this high calling.
Os Hillman.

World ventures is different in two ways.
#1 World ventures is offering what they call dream trips. once a month members have the opportunity to go on a trip at a huge discount. THE WAY WORLD VENTURES GETS THESE RATES IS NOT THROUGH FAM!!!!!!! They get the rates because they are booking HUGE volume all at once. I work for a Hotel Company and the saying goes HEADS IN BEDS well World Ventures is putting a lot of heads in a lot of beds for those who they are brokering these trips with. Hugely different from GTT!!!
#2 they actually have technology behind their business. If anyone did go onto the GTT web site they saw that at GTT the site would just route you to different sites like Lycos, Orbits, or Travelocity. World Ventures technology will have the ability to search 200 travel sites like this instead of just routing you to them. So now people won't have to search through 200 sites one at a time to get the best rate, all they have to do is search once at World Ventures and the site will search all of those sites in about 1 minute. Very different from GTT.
THESE TWO THINGS ARE WHAT YOU CALL A PRODUCT!!!!!" Showthread, scam.com

It doesnt matter how much i put into it,it was the principle. I think that is why he got a bad name at gt travel because he knew he was going to be forming a new company and then run to his new one. that was just wrong and horrible ethics.

I am in World Ventures and let me just say that it is an AWESOME company. Our team has lunch with Wayne Nugent EVERY month....He is a BLAST to hang out with. The only thing I can say to those of you who feel the need to bash WV is this....If you dont like it, dont do it! Why is it that people feel the need to criticize others for doing what works for them. Thats exactly what they say at presentations...This may NOT be for you...NEXT! For those of you contemplating joining and have come to this site to hear the GOSSIP...let me ask you this...Has anyone ever said ANYTHING bad about you? and has it ALWAYS been true? Everyone has a past, why must it be brought up every time we are trying to accomplish something good? Why would you take the advice of someone who is not in the company--NEVER HAS BEEN...Opposed to the people IN the company and having great success!!! SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE FOLLOW SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE...Enough said"

Re: World Ventures
I just joined this thread after reading 11 pages of remarks. To those who already are in this company, best of luck. I am researching this myself, have been for a while. An acquaintance of mine is pushing the product. There seems to be only a few here who will answer questions calmly, sticking to the facts, without making it personal. Those are the ones that might get some benefit from this experience. Ashlee9230, by your own admission, you are a follower. I do not for one minute doubt that can be made in network marketing. . . by someone. But research consistently points to this one fact. The failure rate in network marketing is a staggering 96%. What that means is, MLMs are definitely NOT for everyone. I am sure Wayne Nugent IS a blast to hang around with! Give me your and you'll have a blast with me too, but that doesn't tell me why that makes YOU successful. Are you part of the 4%? I do not think so. I believe the 4 per centers are the ones buying you lunch. Actually, from what I have gathered, STARTING an MLM is where it's at. I actually know a person who is moderately successful at her MLM business. But she has traveled all over the United States to recruit down liners. And after 10 years of hard work she pulls in just enough to pay her half of the bills... but she did get one of those cars. OK, so what am I saying... I just don't think it's a good idea for the majority of people. I have achieved better results by investing my measly 15% of my paycheck over my working life, and my income stream is not going to stop when my down liners get fed up and quit (96%). Is it a , no I would not say so, not if you go into it with your eyes wide open. Its just a damn poor way to make a living. Please just take time out to read this letter to the FTC from John M. Taylor, Ph.D.:

Re: World Ventures
do not join!! I just did some price comparisons on the trips if I book myself through travelocity or other sites. The most I saved was $100 in total and this was only the "dream vacations". But if I booked at an equally nice hotel on the same dates, I could get better prices. In some instances, I could save more by booking myself from the same hotel and the exact same dates!! Going outside their dream vacations into their vacations, there was absolutely NO savings. In fact, in some instances, it was more expensive. I did not check out the cuises however. I know that these boats are loosing big and will do anything to get people aboard and spend on other things. I only researched this for an 45 min. I am sure I could have found better deals than what they are offering. There are tons of companies that offer package deals and discounts AND you do not have to pay ridiculous fees to join!!"

Re: World Ventures
I wanted to check the overseas travel so here is another one. WV is advertising London for $690 pp, double occupancy ($1380 total). It includes
5 nights at the millennium hotel (it says 6 nights but the 1st night is actually travel)
transfers from Heathrow
3 day london pass and travel on buses and underground
My 15 min of research I found the total rate for the exact dates at $1160 for 2 people. This was on Otels.com. The pass and travel card was around $100/ per person. The transfer using the underground was about $10/person
So my total was exactly $1380. Plus, mine included free breakfast each morning.
I did the same thing with several other American dream trips, the only one that I found a bit of savings was Atlantis.
Outside of the dreamtrips, just booking a hotel or vacation, you would actually be losing if you book through WV"

BOTTOM LINE: THESE GUYS "execs" at WV MAKE THEIR MONEY OFF YOUR HOPES OF MAKING MONEY, OFF YOU GIVING THE UPFRONT FEES. THEY DO NOT MAKE MONEY OFF THE TRAVEL. IF IT WERE NOT FOR THE PEOPLE PAYING THE UPFRONT COSTS, THIS COMPANY WOULD NOT HAVE A BUSINESS. SO WHAT THEY ARE IS A BUSINESS THAT MAKE MONEY TO RECRUIT UNIFORMED PEOPLE TO BE THEIR SPOKESMEN. I URGE THOSE OF YOU CONSIDERING THIS TO NOT GIVE ANOTHER THOUGHT AND MOVE ON TO SOMETHING REAL

Re: World Ventures
I am replying to:From AZ
You posted a comment about the Dreamtrips savings and I wanted to correct you on a few things. First off, I have been on the Dreamtrips and have saved a substantial amount of . We are not advertising that you will save on EVERY dreamtrip. What we do advertise is that you are getting these trips at wholesale pricing or better. We want you to check it out. I will be looking into what it is that you claim was not cheaper. Our search technology HOWEVER, is GAURENTEED to pull up the cheapest online price from over 200 travel companies. It is one of a kind. I have had a friend of mine who booked a flight through me (which is ONE way to earn ) to go out of state to a funeral--She had 3 days (on a HOLIDAY weekened) to get to that state. She saved about $150 just from our search tech pulling up the cheapest price. You say that you would like to hear from someone who has been in the company for atleast 6 months. THAT IS ME and I have LOVED every minute of it...and I have ACTUAL checks that have come into my account EVERY month since Ive joined. My parents actually hit the DIRECTOR level last month (which is RESIDUAL INCOME--every month for the rest of their lives) they too, have been in the company for 6 months. You also said that the only way to make is to "recruit" people...WRONG!!!! There are SEVERAL ways to make in this company....Sharing this opportunity with people is only the beginning. You have CYCLE bonuses....You have Bookings from your website....AND now WV has come out with a NEW product....TIMESHARE. So, it sounds to me like you have searched for 45 MINUTES--and thats ALL youve done. If you took the time to search harder you may find that there is more to this this company. I actually feel bad for people like you....You search so hard to find the NEGETIVE things that you pass up all of the good.
P.S My parents are in the real estate market (which is not doing so well here...) This is how they have made their living for the last 6 months....
So, search a little harder!"

If your curious about World Ventures, you should be. I puzzled over the marketing plan and products for a while before I decided to join. As with anything in life, you get out of WV what you put into it. With the right skills and enough effort, individuals can be successful at WV. What if you aren't a salesman or don't posses the marketing skills neccessary to be successful? World Ventures offers a large array of training opportunities that will help get you started. From there you just adjust your personal marketing techniques until you achieve success. A high level of success is not the norm with network marketing, but it is obtainable to anyone willing to learn and adapt. I am currently building a team of adaptable, hard working, and strictly positive individuals who are dedicated to the goals and needs of each individual team member. If you fit the bill, come join the ride of your life. If you have doubts about WV, you should resolve them before you attempt to join. To address negative posts in here, you should ask yourself who is writing them? As a simple analogy, Does a Democrat ever praise his Republican opponent? If you want a positive atmosphere to be successful in, then come on in. The door is open, provided you are willing to work."

By saying this, I am in no way saying that WV is not a legitimate company. In my research I found they were a company in good standing (easy to find their information for World Ventures Marketing LLC and World Ventures Holdings, LLC in florida and Nevada, easy enough to look up their California Seller of Travel, etc). What I want to observe, is something of character. Ethics is more important in business than many people realize. If the owners of this organization and the higher sales staff of this organization were involved in the fiasco at GTT as has been suggested, and continued to push sales (with the knowledge the GTT was headed for a fallout) it shows a very bad moral character quality." No they were not OFFICERS in the company. (had no say in the workings of the company. Just members with large downlines)
They went to the owner of the other travel company and told them they had developed a new booking technology and wanted to see if he would partner with them. The owner said NO
Shortly after Reps checks started bouncing or they never got paid at all (including the founders of WV)
That is when they broke away to start WorldVentures. " 419legal.com

Default This is legit
I have to say this company is legit. For full disclosure, I've been involved with them for 4 months now.
"They are NOT a travel agent license factory. To get the travel agent credentials, such as IATA and CLIA, you must attend the industry training AND achieve minimum sales volume as required by those organizations. I've attended CLIA training and have booked 2 cruises for friends, and I only do this part time, but that has qualified me for CLIA certification. I'll say this again - the company does NOT give out credentials without the appropriate training and sales volume.
This is a network marketing company and my focus at the moment is more on building a team than making sales - though I do make sales and have my friends and family book travel through my website. The commissions the company pays are better than the industry average, if the travel booked is commissionable (domestic airfare generally isn't commissionable unless it's included as part of an overall travel package - then it is only sometimes).
In the 4 months I've been in the company, I've seen the person who sponsored me quit her job as a real estate agent to persue this business full time. She has been in the company less than a year and has matched her real estate income with this company. One of the other people she sponsored has also quit her job to do this full time. The person who sponsored my sponsor was a vice president at a financial services company and he quit his position once his World Ventures income matched his salary. These are people I know very well and I know their individual situations.
If anyone has any questions about the company, please feel free to contact me via Private Message on this site. If you want to speak with any of the people I know who are doing this full time to verify this, I'll be happy to get you in touch with them, and I'm sure they'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.
